Even with his territorial expanse, Brazil can maintain a fully interconnected electrical system that can reach all country. In cases of accidents or situations that is required interrupt the electric energy on transmission lines, these interconnections allow a more effective distribution, supplying the affected regions with electric energy.
All system its controlled and operated in an integrated way and in real time from the operations centers ONS (National Electrical System Operator), located in Brasília, Florianópolis, Recife and Rio de Janeiro. Some examples of operations in real time are: Tension Control, generation, frequency, loading, floods and operational limits, coordination of recomposing, load management, power reserve guarantee and control of interventions.
However, some care needs to always be taken for the perfect functioning of the entire Brazilian electrical system: Electrical Safety (produce only what is being used) avoiding the variation of the frequency of the electric current, the operation planning that should be carried out on the day before the energy distribution and the analysis of the typical load curves (increase or decrease in energy consumption based on peak hours). Some tools help control and maintain the entire system like, the Detector of fires and atmospheric discharges, graphs that determine and delineate a security regions for the production and distribution of electrical energy.
Comment: We conclude that the entire energy transmission system of great Brazilian power, is extremely committed to the safety and efficiency of its processes, leading to greater reliability and assurance in the quality of energy that arriver in urban and industrial centers.
